Our Story
🐾 About Lamorinda Dog Lady 🐾
Hi, Neighbors! Our family moved to Lafayette a little over a year ago. We've been enjoying the trails, parks, neighbors, schools, deer, not so much the coyotes, but definitely all the amazing birds! After finally getting settled in with our now 4 yr old and just turned 1 yr old, I've finally moved forward with starting a business close to my heart. I'm a lifelong dog lover & owner, and have been sitting pups for years for people I already know. Now, I've decided to turn it into a local business for anyone in Lamorinda and the surrounding areas, in hopes of having more time with my kids and dogs at home while I work and make more friends. Enter stage right: Lamorinda Dog Lady!!
At Lamorinda Dog Lady, we believe every dog deserves a place where they can play, relax, and feel like family. Our family is dedicated to providing personalized, loving care for dogs in Lafayette and the surrounding areas. Our home offers a safe, clean, and enriching environment where dogs can feel comfortable and thrive, outdoors or inside, while you're away. Our .75+ acre property has plenty of securely fenced space, providing ample opportunity for exercise, exploration, and engagement. Our goal is to ensure peace of mind for dog parents while delivering exceptional services tailored to your dog’s needs. Our services include: Overnight Pet Sitting, Doggy Daycare, Pet Laundry, and Pet Wash/Brushing. We will limit to only 5 dogs max for daycare and only 2 or 3 for overnight care, so please reach out early whenever possible.
We love meeting new people and pets (dogs just happen to be my favorite). We also have a yard cat and fish, and love to support all of the local birds and pollinators through gardening. If you or any of your neighbors need our services, or just want to make more doggie and human friends, please reach out!
Warm regards, Judith (Lamorinda Dog Lady) and family

FAQs
General Questions: • How long have you been caring for dogs? I'm a lifelong dog owner and lover. Other than my 4years in a college dorm, where pets were prohibited, I've always lived with a dog. I've owned and cared for dogs of all sizes, ranging from 140 lbs down to 12 lbs.. I've been dog sitting for my friends for the past 10+ years, and have just recently shifted to sitting as a business. • Are you licensed and insured? Yes, I'm insured under my business LLC and have confirmed with the City of Lafayette that no license is necessary for a home business of this nature. • Do you have references or reviews I can check? I do have a few referrals that I can provide upon request while I'm just getting started with official reviews on my newly set up business pages. • How many dogs do you care for at one time? No more than 5 for doggy daycare, and no more than 3 for overnight stays. • Do you have breed or size restrictions? No, but I do require all dogs be up to date on vaccinations and all males be neutered. • What happens if my dog doesn’t get along with others? As long as they are just setting boundaries with the other dogs (i.e. - wanting space and time to themselves, but not being actively aggressive), I'll closely monitor and see if changes are needed. If they need more personal space than most dogs, but are not aggressive, I'll separate them into a different area (we have baby gates to cordon off areas of the house and yard). If I ultimately have concerns that a dog is aggressive or not a good fit for our family, I reserve the right to refuse service for any reason (full refund will be provided).
Facility / Environment (Daycare): • Can I tour your property before booking? Yes - we welcome you and your pup to stop by and check us out before booking. • Are the dogs ever left unsupervised? No, the dogs are never left unsupervised. • Is there indoor and outdoor space? Yes, the dogs are free to roam in the fenced area of the yard or hang out in our kitchen and mud room. • How often do dogs go outside? Unless it's raining, we keep our back door open all day so the dogs can go in and out as they please. If it's raining, we open up the entire house to the pups and limit outside activity to bathroom breaks.
Dog Care & Routine: • Do you separate dogs by size, temperament, or energy level? Yes, if a dog is smaller, more introverted, older, or otherwise unlikely to enjoy being around the other pups as much, I'll let them hang out in the other part of the house past the kitchen baby gate. The rest of the dogs have the kitchen, mud room, and outside, If it's raining, they would go in my partner's office with him while I keep other dogs with me in the rest of the house. • How often are dogs walked or exercised? All dogs are free to explore and play in the fenced yard area throughout the day. Additionally, I play fetch with chuckit balls and tennis balls at least twice per day. A lot of the time, the dogs like to play with each other, but when they come up to me with a toy, I always accommodate. If you book a walk, I will take your pup on a leashed walk along the paved trail through Lafayette. • Do you provide toys or should I bring my own? I provide plenty of toys, so please leave yours at home unless it's an overnight stay. • Can I bring my dog's own food, treats, or bedding? For overnight stays, yes. • How are feeding and medications handled? This is specifically tailored to your dog's needs. I am very experienced with giving pills, skin treatments, shots, etc. Please reach out directly to coordinate these items.
Health & Safety: • What vaccinations do you require? All puppy shots (parvo, rabies), up to date rabies certificate, and Bordetella (kennel cough) • What happens if my dog gets sick or injured? • Do you have an emergency vet on call? In case of an emergency, I will place a call the Dog Parent(s) at the phone number provided during the booking process. Unless immediately instructed otherwise, I will , at my sole discretion and best judgement, take the Dog(s) to: Pacific Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital 3210 Old Tunnel Rd Suite B, Lafayette, CA 94549 https://pacvetemergency.com/ +1 925-297-5751 • Are dogs ever crated? If so, when and for how long? Not unless they are crate trained at home, and they are staying overnight. In this event, the dog's usual crate can be brought and we will use that as directed by the Parent(s).
Communication: • Will I receive updates, photos, or videos? I will send photos and updates once per day for daycare and at least twice per day for overnight stays. If you wish to book a zoom call with your pup, this is an add-on service that I can accommodate for overnight stays. • Can I contact you during the day to check in? Of course! Please text or call as needed. • What’s your policy on cancellations or last-minute bookings? Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change!
